मुख्य आरोपी चंदन वर्मा पुलिस की गोलीबारी में घायल हो गया, जब उसने कथित तौर पर हिरासत से भागने की कोशिश की। वर्मा ने गुरुवार (3 अक्टूबर) को अमेठी के अहोरवा भवानी इलाके में सरकारी स्कूल के शिक्षक 35 वर्षीय सुनील कुमार, उनकी 32 वर्षीय पत्नी पूनम और दंपति की दो बेटियों दृष्टि और सुनी की कथित तौर पर गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी थी।
अतिरिक्त एसपी हरेंद्र कुमार ने कहा, “पूछताछ के आधार पर, हत्या में इस्तेमाल की गई पिस्तौल का पता लगाने के लिए आरोपी को ले जाया जा रहा था। उसने सब-इंस्पेक्टर मदन कुमार से पिस्तौल छीन ली और पुलिस पार्टी पर फायरिंग कर दी। पुलिस पार्टी ने जवाबी कार्रवाई की, जिसमें आरोपी के दाहिने पैर में गोली लग गई। उसे अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया है और आगे की जांच जारी है

Prime accused Chandan Verma was injured in police firing when he allegedly tried to escape from custody. Verma had allegedly shot dead government school teacher Sunil Kumar, 35, his 32-year-old wife Poonam and the couple’s two daughters Drishti and Suni in Ahorva Bhawani area of Amethi on Thursday (October 3).
Additional SP Harendra Kumar said, “Based on interrogation, the accused was being taken to trace the pistol used in the murder. He snatched the pistol from sub-inspector Madan Kumar and opened fire on the police party. The police party retaliated, in which the accused sustained bullet injuries on his right leg. He has been admitted to a hospital and further investigation is underway.”
